Domaine de La Gracieuse is a luxury residence for older people situated in Lonay at the entrance to Morges. It is part of the network of high-class establishments belonging to the Emera group, founded by Claude Cheton 30 years ago, with the aim of offering retirement living in which comfort is synonymous with well-being at every level.

The captain of the ship and his crew

The director of Domaine de La Gracieuse, Thierry Barège, has a degree in the management of health and social institutions, and is a quality engineer in medico-social structures. He has been working there for over eight years, leading a team of 120 professional and dedicated employees. Together, they take care of the well-being of residents and provide them with extremely high-quality hotel services. Thierry Barège is also Operational Director for Emera group establishments in Italy and Luxembourg.

A hotel residence and a care home which complement one another

The Domaine de La Gracieuse is made up of two distinct structures which complement each other.

The hotel residence has 150 apartments - ten of which are furnished for short stays - offering a permanent home help service (with nurses, nursing aides, etc.). Working in collaboration with OSAD, which provides help and care at home, makes it possible to bring in additional staff for residents according to their needs (night-time carers, household help, etc.).

The Domaine is a care home made up of 30 rooms and 11 apartments, to accommodate people requiring specific care.

Both structures offer residents the full-time services of health professionals in the fields of physiotherapy, chiropody, acupuncture and psychiatry. The healthcare team is led by a head nurse and a medical director specialising in geriatrics, who is also responsible for the strategy and medical policy of the Domaine de La Gracieuse.

The heads of department are on hand for residents, and the watchwords are efficiency and kindness, as if they were living in a palace. In addition to its hotel services, there is also a wide choice of cultural, sporting and recreational activities, in the delightful and extensive common areas. And so, a swimming pool, auditorium, library, billiard room, pétanque court and putting green allow residents to socialise and forge new friendships. The property's three restaurants serve an elegant cuisine full of delicious flavours, while taking into account the tastes, diet and health of each resident. Le Drakkar restaurant, in particular, offers an exceptional view of the lake and Mont Blanc, and allows guests to enjoy special occasions in the company of their relatives and visitors.

The care unit

The La Gracieuse Care Unit has been set up to offer guests comprehensive, optimal and harmonious medical care. Its aim is to give each resident the opportunity to recreate a safe, secure home in a spirit of welcome and openness, while looking after his or her health daily.

To achieve this, each member of staff is committed to providing individualized care and support in line with the project drawn up following the admission of all new long-stay residents, and in collaboration with their families and the multidisciplinary team.

This special structure is designed primarily for elderly people moving into the Care Unit. Younger people may also stay here temporarily for rehabilitation or convalescence, and exceptionally for longer stays.
