Chef Hussein Hamade, a graduate of Lucerne's prestigious hotel management institute, HTMi, invites customers to taste his homemade Lebanese cuisine in a warm and welcoming space at 3 Rue du Marché, Nyon.
Having begun his career at the Hôtel Riviera before joining the Howard Johnson and Phoenicia Intercontinental in Beirut, Lebanon, Chef Hussein also worked at Best Western hotels in Geneva. He opened his first restaurant in Annemasse in 2011, followed by the Elyssar in Nyon in 2021.
Hussein is more than just a chef, he is a creator, who is always on the move and always on the look-out for new flavours and enriching encounters. It is for this reason his new address (whose name is inspired by Queen Dido) is a hybrid of a restaurant, caterer and table d'hôte. In this "dining space” - which is his second home - he creates a wide range of gourmet dishes based on authentic Lebanese cuisine, with the help of his dynamic and friendly team.
It is almost impossible to summarise the variety of his cooking. The best way to understand Elyssar's philosophy is to visit the restaurant, meet Chef Hussein and sample his exquisite dishes.
