Paired via Bluetooth with your phone, watch or smart bracelet, the Be One armband can analyse your perspiration in an instant. The app then transmits all the data relating to your sweat to your doctor: the quantity, your skin temperature, sweat flow rate (in litres per hour) and its composition: sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium.
This technology, developed, manufactured and put together by French engineers from the BeLab company, promises to be very useful both for athletes and in the medical field.
Since perspiration is a loss of liquid, analysis provided by the Be One armband allows athletes to determine the quantities of water and minerals lost during exercise, so they can compensate for this loss, and thus adapt their training and improve recovery.
In the medical field, the Be One armband can help monitor and treat diseases such as kidney problems and mineral and electrolyte imbalances. Sweat is also a diagnostic tool for cystic fibrosis, so the Be One armband is also likely to mean substantial advances with regard to this condition.
When it comes to preventative medicine, particularly the care of the elderly, Be One is useful for the wider public. During heatwaves, the app automatically notifies people wearing a Be One armband that they are beginning to feel dehydrated, prompting them to rehydrate and protect themselves before the situation gets worse.
As Swiss ambassadors for this exciting, ground-breaking, smart project, Tanguy Salamin, Cédrian Bou Assaf and Dominique Scurti are available to answer any questions you may have, and to tell you how you can the most of this ingenious tool in sports training, or for your health and well-being.
